- 1/2 cup butter, at room temperature
- 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
- 8 ounces chocolate chips or candy melts
- 1 tablespoon vegetable shortening
- Optional: 1/2 cup holiday sprinkles
Instructions
- Combine creamy peanut butter, softened butter, and sifted powdered sugar in a bowl until smooth.
- Roll the mixture into golf ball-sized balls and place on a parchment-lined sheet.
- Chill the balls in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Melt chocolate chips with vegetable shortening in the microwave until smooth.
- Dip each ball into the melted chocolate, leaving the tops exposed, and place back on the tray.
- Refrigerate again until the chocolate is set.
Notes
Use creamy peanut butter for the best texture, but crunchy can be substituted.
Keep refrigerated to maintain freshness if storing for more than two days.
Add sprinkles after dipping for an extra festive look.
