Description

This recipe for candied nuts offers an irresistible flavor and quick prep. Perfect for a sweet snack or a delightful addition to your dessert table, featuring roasted peanuts and aromatic spices.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ¾ cup water
  • 2 cups unsalted peanuts, roasted
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp vanilla
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • ⅛ tsp cayenne, optional

Instructions

  • Heat a medium skillet over medium heat.
  • Add 1 cup sugar and ¾ cup water into the skillet and stir until the sugar dissolves into the water.
  • Add 2 cups unsalted peanuts, 1 tsp cinnamon, ½ tsp vanilla, ¼ tsp salt, ¼ tsp nutmeg, and ⅛ tsp cayenne if using. Stir until fully combined.
  • Stir the peanuts over medium heat. The liquid will bubble; keep stirring until the water dries and the sugar crystallizes, creating a crunchy coating.
  • Remove the nuts from heat to prevent further crystallization of the sugar.
  • Transfer the roasted peanuts to a parchment paper-lined cookie sheet and allow them to cool completely.

Notes

For a spicier kick, add cayenne pepper to taste.
Ensure to stir continuously to achieve the best coating texture.
Allow nuts to cool completely for the perfect crunch.
