This recipe for candied nuts offers an irresistible flavor and quick prep. Perfect for a sweet snack or a delightful addition to your dessert table, featuring roasted peanuts and aromatic spices.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup sugar
- ¾ cup water
- 2 cups unsalted peanuts, roasted
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp vanilla
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp nutmeg
- ⅛ tsp cayenne, optional
Instructions
- Heat a medium skillet over medium heat.
- Add 1 cup sugar and ¾ cup water into the skillet and stir until the sugar dissolves into the water.
- Add 2 cups unsalted peanuts, 1 tsp cinnamon, ½ tsp vanilla, ¼ tsp salt, ¼ tsp nutmeg, and ⅛ tsp cayenne if using. Stir until fully combined.
- Stir the peanuts over medium heat. The liquid will bubble; keep stirring until the water dries and the sugar crystallizes, creating a crunchy coating.
- Remove the nuts from heat to prevent further crystallization of the sugar.
- Transfer the roasted peanuts to a parchment paper-lined cookie sheet and allow them to cool completely.
Notes
For a spicier kick, add cayenne pepper to taste.
Ensure to stir continuously to achieve the best coating texture.
Allow nuts to cool completely for the perfect crunch.
