Ingredients

  • Butter (2 tablespoons)
  • Olive Oil (1 tablespoon)
  • Sweet Onions (3 large)
  • Kosher Salt (1 teaspoon)
  • Black Pepper (½ teaspoon)
  • Worcestershire Sauce (1 tablespoon)
  • Cream Cheese (8 ounces)
  • Sour Cream (¾ cup)
  • Mayonnaise (¾ cup)
  • Garlic Powder (1 teaspoon)
  • Fresh Chives (3 tablespoons, divided)

Instructions

  • Melt butter and olive oil in a skillet over medium-low heat.
  • Add sliced onions; cook slowly for 40-45 minutes until caramel brown.
  • Season with kosher salt and black pepper; stir in Worcestershire sauce.
  • Reserve some caramelized onions for garnish; let cool slightly.
  • Mix cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise until smooth in a bowl.
  • Add garlic powder and chives; fold in cooled onions gently.
  • Transfer to a bowl, cover, and chill for at least one hour before serving.
