Description

Enjoy the delightful taste of Chicken and Cabbage Stir Fry. This quick dish is packed with tender chicken, crispy cabbage, and vibrant carrots, all tossed in a zesty sauce. The perfect go-to for an easy and healthy dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound chicken breast or thighs, sliced into thin strips
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or avocado oil
  • ½ teaspoon fine sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon white pepper or black
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely diced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 3 cups napa cabbage, cut into about 2 inch size pieces
  • 1 large carrot, sliced into matchsticks
  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons light soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
  • green onions, for garnish
  • black and white sesame seeds, for garnish
  • 1 teaspoon paprika, mild

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large frying pan or wok over high heat.
  2. Add chicken and season with salt and white pepper. Cook for about 3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove chicken from the pan and set aside, keeping the juices.
  3. In the same pan, add garlic and ginger, and if necessary, a drizzle of cooking oil. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add napa cabbage and carrots, stirring frequently. Cook for about 2 minutes until vegetables are tender-crisp.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together chicken broth, soy sauce, maple syrup, lime juice, and sesame oil.
  6. Return the cooked chicken to the pan and pour in the sauce. Stir to combine and cook for another 2 minutes.
  7. Remove from heat and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in the sauce for 30 minutes before cooking.
Feel free to add other stir fry vegetables like bell peppers or snow peas.
This dish pairs well with rice or noodles for a more filling meal.
