Description
This Cold Brew Coffee offers a delightful flavor with a simple prep. Just combine coarsely ground coffee and water to create a refreshing beverage perfect for any time of day.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup coarsely ground coffee (80g)
- 4 cups cold filtered water (900ml)
Instructions
- In a medium glass or metal pitcher, combine the ground coffee and the water. Stir well to moisten all of the coffee grounds.
- Cover and let the mixture sit at room temperature for 12 to 24 hours; a longer brew time will make the coffee stronger.
- Set a fine mesh strainer over a large measuring cup or bowl, and line it with cheesecloth or a coffee filter. Slowly pour the coffee mixture into the filter to strain out the grounds, allowing it to drip through the filter before adding more if necessary.
- Store the cold brew in a jar or airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week. Serve over ice with sweetener or creamer as desired.
Notes
Adjust the brewing time to suit your taste for stronger or milder coffee.
For a smoother flavor, consider using freshly ground coffee beans.
Cold brew can be stored in the fridge for about a week.
