Description

Crockpot Baked Beans offer an irresistible combination of smoky bacon, sweet molasses, and tender navy beans. This easy recipe promises a hearty meal that’s perfect for gatherings or a cozy dinner at home. Simple prep and flavorful results make this dish a must-try for anyone looking for homemade comfort food.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound dried navy beans
  • 5 cups water
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup molasses
  • 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 6 ounces tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 5 strips thick cut bacon, cooked until crisp and cut into small pieces
  • 3 teaspoons salt

Instructions

  1. Rinse the dried beans in a colander and remove any damaged beans.
  2. In the crockpot, combine the rinsed beans, water, diced onion, brown sugar, molasses, apple cider vinegar, tomato paste, yellow mustard, and pepper.
  3. Cook on high for 9-10 hours. For presoaked beans, set to low for 8-10 hours or high for 4-6 hours.
  4. In the final hour of cooking, stir in the cooked bacon and salt.

Notes

For quicker prep, consider soaking the beans overnight before cooking.
Substitute turkey bacon for a leaner option without sacrificing flavor.
