- ½ tbsp olive oil
- 2 lbs sirloin steak sliced into bite-size strips
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp pepper
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1 piece 1-inch ginger minced
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 medium onion sliced
- 2 bell peppers sliced
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp water
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the steak, salt, and pepper, cooking until the steak is browned but not fully cooked. Remove from heat.
- In the Crockpot, combine garlic, ginger, sesame oil, brown sugar, soy sauce, and beef broth. Whisk until well mixed.
- Stir in the steak and onion to coat with the sauce.
- Cover and cook for 6-8 hours on low, or 3-4 hours on high.
- In the last 30 minutes of cooking, add bell peppers and the cornstarch mixed with water.
- Cover and continue cooking on high for 30 minutes until the peppers are tender and the sauce thickens.
Notes
For added flavor, use low-sodium soy sauce and adjust the brown sugar to taste.
Serve over rice or noodles for a complete meal.
