Description

This Lebanese Garlic Sauce, known as Toum, is a simple yet flavorful condiment made with fresh garlic, oil, and lemon juice. Perfect for enhancing any dish, it brings a delicious taste to your quick dinners and healthy meals.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup garlic cloves, peeled
  • 2 tsp kosher salt
  • 2 ½ cups neutral oil, avocado recommended
  • ¼ cup lemon juice

Instructions

  • Slice each garlic clove in half to remove the green part for a smoother flavor.
  • In a food processor, combine 1 cup garlic cloves and 2 tsp kosher salt and process until minced, about 1 minute.
  • Add 2 tbsp of oil, blend until a paste forms, around 1-2 minutes.
  • While the processor runs, slowly alternate adding ¼ cup lemon juice and the remaining oil until fully emulsified, about 10 minutes.
  • Once emulsified, serve and enjoy!

Notes

For a milder flavor, remove the green germ from each garlic clove.
Use a quality neutral oil like avocado for the best taste.
Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
