Description

This Margarita offers a delightful combination of tequila, fresh lime juice, and orange liqueur for a zesty, refreshing drink. With a simple prep time of just a few minutes, it’s perfect for gatherings or a relaxing evening at home. Enjoy this classic cocktail whether you’re entertaining guests or unwinding after a long day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz tequila
  • 1 oz orange liqueur, such as cointreau, triple sec, or grand marnier
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice, from 1 lime
  • ¼ oz simple syrup or agave syrup (optional)
  • lime slices, for garnish
  • coarse salt, for rimming the glass

Instructions

  1. Place coarse salt on a small plate. Rub the rim of the glass with a lime wedge and dip it in coarse salt if desired. Add ice to the glass if using.
  2. Combine tequila, orange liqueur, fresh lime juice, and simple syrup (if using) in a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake vigorously.
  3. Strain the mixture into the prepared glass. Garnish the rim with a lime slice.

Notes

Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less simple syrup or agave syrup.
This drink can be blended with ice for a frozen version.
Feel free to experiment with different types of orange liqueur.
