- 2 oz tequila
- 1 oz orange liqueur, such as cointreau, triple sec, or grand marnier
- 1 oz fresh lime juice, from 1 lime
- ¼ oz simple syrup or agave syrup (optional)
- lime slices, for garnish
- coarse salt, for rimming the glass
Instructions
- Place coarse salt on a small plate. Rub the rim of the glass with a lime wedge and dip it in coarse salt if desired. Add ice to the glass if using.
- Combine tequila, orange liqueur, fresh lime juice, and simple syrup (if using) in a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake vigorously.
- Strain the mixture into the prepared glass. Garnish the rim with a lime slice.
Notes
Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less simple syrup or agave syrup.
This drink can be blended with ice for a frozen version.
Feel free to experiment with different types of orange liqueur.
