Description

This Mulled Cider is a simple, delightful drink filled with warm spices and rich apple flavor. Perfect for gatherings, it brings comfort and joy to any chilly evening.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 whole nutmeg
  • 10 allspice berries
  • 10 cloves
  • 2 star anise
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 1/2 gallon apple cider
  • 1/4 cup rum (optional)
  • 1 small orange (for garnish)
  • Whole cranberries (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Toast spices in a pot for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
  • Add apple cider to the pot and heat just below simmer for 1 hour.
  • Transfer to a slow cooker or Instant Pot and cook on low for 3 hours if preferred.
  • Stir in optional rum and garnish with orange slices and cranberries.

Notes

Whole spices enhance flavor more than ground spices; consider adjusting based on availability.
Cider can be refrigerated for up to 5 days and reheated gently on the stove.
Adding chopped apples or pears can create a thicker texture.
