Description

This Pea Salad offers a burst of flavor with sweet peas, sharp cheddar, and crispy bacon, making it a quick and healthy meal option that’s simple to prepare. Enjoy it as a side dish or a refreshing main.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups frozen sweet peas thawed, well drained, patted dry
  • 1/3 cup salad dressing
  • 1 tablespoon sour cream
  • seasoning salt or salt and black pepper amount as desired
  • 2 chopped hard boiled eggs
  • 1/2 cup finely diced red onion
  • 1 cup diced sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled bacon or cubed ham


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine salad dressing, sour cream, and seasoning salt or salt and pepper, whisking until smooth.
  2. Gently stir in the thawed peas to coat them.
  3. Fold in chopped boiled eggs, red onion, cheddar cheese, and bacon. Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary.
  4. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

For a creamier texture, add more sour cream.
Feel free to substitute bacon with cubed ham as a variation.
Chill the salad longer for deeper flavor.
