- ¼ cup applesauce
- 1½ teaspoons milk

- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 4 medium sized fresh peaches
- 2 tablespoon milk or egg wash
- 2 tablespoons sparking or coarse sugar
Instructions
- Prepare the dough by mixing flour, unsalted butter, applesauce, milk, salt, and granulated sugar until it reaches a crumbly consistency.
- Chill the dough for about 30 minutes while preheating the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the chilled dough into a 12-inch circle on a lightly floured surface.
- Place the rolled dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, combine sliced peaches, ground cinnamon, ½ cup granulated sugar, and 3 tablespoons flour. Mix well.
- Spoon the peach mixture into the center of the dough, leaving a 2-inch border.
- Fold the edges of the dough over the peaches, pleating as necessary.
- Brush the edges with milk or egg wash and sprinkle with sparking sugar.
- Bake the crostata for 45-55 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the peaches are tender.
- Allow to cool slightly before slicing and serving.
Notes
Feel free to use store-bought pie dough for a quicker option.
